The International Cannes Film Festival is known for showcasing the very best in international cinema, and one of the highlights of the festival is the Short Film Corner, where emerging filmmakers can showcase their work to industry professionals and audiences alike. Among the films that made its debut at the 2017 Cannes Short Film Corner is "Deliver Hannah," a haunting short film directed by Gabrielle Alexander.

The film shines an important spotlight on the difficulties of spotting signs of sexual abuse in children and our moral duty to ask the right questions, though we may not like the answers. The film is a portrayal of evil corrupting innocence and the consequences of it making its home inside the psyche.

"Deliver Hannah", tells the story of a young girl who is traumatized and unable to speak after witnessing the brutal murder of her foster parents.

Despite her condition, a kind detective takes a keen interest in her case and tries to help her find her voice. As Hannah opens up to the officer, he senses things aren’t what they seem. Hannah becomes fully possessed by inhuman spirits, creating a dark feminine take on the inner demons’ abuse burrows in the mind of a child, turning them into monsters. The film's visual style is as impressive as the storyline. The cinematography is visually moody, stunningly capturing the bleak and foreboding atmosphere of the theme. The haunting sound design adds to the sense of unease and tension throughout the film, creating an immersive experience for the audience.

In conclusion, "Deliver Hannah" is a haunting piece of filmmaking that highlights the talent of its director, the crew, and the cast. It challenges the audience to question everything and think critically about the consequences of their lack of action. This film is a must-see for anyone who appreciates powerful and thought-provoking cinema.
